The 2015 Iditarod begins this year with its ceremonial start on Saturday, March 7, 2015, in Anchorage, Alaska, and the restart this year on Monday, March 9, in Fairbanks. Parts of the traditional odd-year trail got hardly an snow, and as we know from last year's similar conditions, they can be detrimental to the success of mushers and their teams. Memorial Middle School technology classes will be following the Iditarod and have already begun conducting research and exploring various Iditarod resources. Some great sites to check out are the Iditarod homepage, 2015 Musher Profiles, and the documentary available on Amazon Prime titled "Toughest Race on Earth: Iditarod." Stay tuned as we follow this testament of bravery, endurance, and will. Students will be updating their blogs in the Blogroll and publishing work to the 'Our Work' page of this website. Mush! 1. After each activity, check in with Mrs. Hurlbert so I know you're on the right track and ready for the next step. Everyone has an opinion - we might also call it a bias - as to what the biggest environmental problems are facing our country and world in 2014. We may not agree with them all, but how cool that we can share them when we want to? Here are some links I'd like you to explore (warning: they have bias!). Spend some time scanning through them, watching the videos, looking at the photos. Then post a response below as to which problem YOU think is the biggest. Did the website convince you?
